Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Paro Ride to Thimphu
Arrive in Paro and meet your support team with fully equipped mountain bikes. After a short orientation and warm up ride through Paro valley, begin your scenic transfer to Thimphu with a relaxed downhill trail. Check in to a cozy eco-lodge and unwind with local Bhutanese cuisine.
Day 2: Thimphu Local Ride & Cultural Stopovers
Explore Thimphu’s bike-friendly paths, including the Takin Preserve and Buddha Dordenma viewpoint. Enjoy cultural breaks at the Folk Heritage Museum and a private tea session with locals. End your day with an archery lesson the national sport of Bhutan.
Day 3: Thimphu to Dochula Pass Downhill to Punakha
Gear up for an exhilarating ascent to Dochula Pass (3,100m) followed by a thrilling descent through rhododendron forests into Punakha Valley. Stop for scenic views of 108 chortens and a picnic lunch. Overnight in a bike-friendly lodge near the river.
Day 4: Punakha Loop Ride Dzongs & Farms
Pedal through lush rice paddies and suspension bridges to visit the majestic Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lhakhang. Ride into the countryside for tea at a farmhouse and meet locals along the way. This loop gives both cultural insight and a physical challenge.
Day 5: Punakha to Paro (Transfer & Optional Ride)
Drive back to Paro with stops for photos and rest. Riders can choose an optional trail ride near Paro Valley in the evening. Check into a boutique stay designed for adventure travelers.
Day 6: Ride to Tiger’s Nest Base Cultural Afternoon
Begin your day riding to the base of Tiger’s Nest trail. Leave the bikes behind and hike to Bhutan’s most iconic monastery, perched on a cliffside. Return to Paro and enjoy a cultural evening with Bhutanese food, dance, and storytelling.
Day 7: Off Road Trail Exploration
Explore lesser known MTB trails around Paro with your guide, including forested single tracks and farm lanes. Enjoy a farewell BBQ lunch in a traditional home setting.
Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, transfer to the airport with stories (and muscle memories) of riding the Thunder Dragon Trail.
