Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Paro  Gateway to the Sacred

Arrive in Paro, where your introduction to Bhutan begins with a calm walk near Kyichu Lhakhang and a cultural dinner featuring masked dance clips. Meet your guide, who will accompany you through the spiritual language of dance and ritual.

Day 2: National Museum & Mask Maker’s Workshop

Visit the National Museum of Bhutan to explore ancient cham costumes, masks, and instruments. In the afternoon, begin your mask-painting session with a master artisan  learning the colors, symbols, and emotions behind every brushstroke.

Day 3: Drive to Thimphu  Monks & Movements

Travel to Thimphu and visit a monastic school where cham dancers train. Participate in a guided movement workshop with monks who explain the meaning behind every step. In the evening, enjoy an immersive audio meditation with traditional cham horns and chants.

Day 4: Festival Day  Guided by Meaning

Attend a live Tshechu festival (depending on season) and witness Bhutan’s sacred dances. With a local expert by your side, you’ll learn the stories behind each mask, movement, and musical cue. This is not just a performance  it’s living spiritual art.

Day 5: Punakha  Legacy of Devotion

Drive to Punakha and visit the grand Punakha Dzong. Along the way, your guide will share how cham is performed across different dzongs and regions. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the river and light butter lamps for blessings at Chimi Lhakhang

Day 6: Cham Rehearsal & Performer Dinner

Witness a private rehearsal of cham performers at a rural monastery. Later, join the dancers for an intimate dinner and story-sharing session, learning what it means to carry the responsibility of spiritual dance

Day 7: Return to Paro  Reflection & Completion

Travel back to Paro and visit local artisans who craft ceremonial instruments and attire. Enjoy a final moment of stillness at a temple with chant echoes still in the air. Tonight, a farewell dinner will include a surprise mini dance demonstration just for your group.

Day 8: Departure  Take the Spirit With You

As you depart Bhutan, you’ll carry with you a handmade mask, spiritual insight, and a deeper understanding of movement as prayer. Depart from Paro International Airport with your dancer’s soul awakened.
